Children {Tips & What to Wear}

As far as what to wear for a session the general photography clothing rule is KISS – Keep It Simple Silly! Less is more, keep this in mind when making your clothing selections. There's no need to run out and buy new outfits. Some of the most classic looks, are jeans a solid colored nice top, and bare feet! Here are some of the dos and don’ts in regards to clothing.

Children are happier and more contented when they are well fed. Avoid grumpiness and distraction by giving your child a snack or meal before their session. Most of the time we would like to schedule your children(s) session in the morning.

Be careful not to feed your child any foods that may stain their skin. You may not always notice it but the camera will pick it up.

We suggest keeping your child away from markers, pens, paints, or other messy toys before your session.

Please do not ask your child to say "cheese" or demand that they smile for the camera. Doing so can create fake smiles and poses while causing your child to feel the pressure of performing for the camera.

Playing with our equipment is NOT permitted due to cost and safety reasons. Safety is important to us. We ask that you watch your children around our equipment.

Feel free to bring along items you would like to incorporate. Does your child have a favourite book, toy or activity?

We suggest bringing a brush or comb to your session. Spare hair accessories can be helpful too.

Bring several changes of clothes for a greater variety in your final images.

Don’t forget those accessories! Hats, scarves, fun socks, umbrellas, etc are all fun.

Not feeling well? We understand that children get sick. We want to create beautiful portraits for you to cherish for years to come. If your child isn’t feeling well we suggest rescheduling.
